SystemC TLM (Transaction-level Modeling) Working Group

Charter

This group is responsible for the definition and development of methodology and add-on libraries for transaction-level modeling in SystemC.

Chair: Mr. Bart Vanthournout, Synopsys

Scope

Transaction-level modeling (TLM) continues to grow in importance for architectural exploration, performance analysis, building virtual platforms for software development, and functional verification. Since its release, TLM has become the industry standard for creating interoperable transaction-level models. It provides a synergistic and comprehensive solution that supports loosely-timed and approximately-timed transaction-level modeling.

The release of a TLM-2.0 Reference Manual completed the definition of TLM-2.0 with more refined and detailed descriptions of the semantics of the standard. The Reference Manual is accompanied by an update of the TLM library: release 2.0.1.

As of July 2012, the TLM-2.0 standard is now part of SystemC 2.3.0 and beyond. Access to the TLM-2.0 standard is subject to the terms of the OSCI Open Source License. Go to the SystemC 2.3.0 download page.

Background

In July 2009, the working group released version 2.0.1 of the TLM library, which includes the TLM-2.0 Reference Manual.
